BECK
GUEROLITO
REMIX ALBUM SET FOR DECEMBER 13 RELEASE
Air, Beastie Boys, El-P, Boards Of Canada, Others Reinterpret Beck's Best Work In Years(Entertainment Weekly)
As his SRO world tour hits its home stretch with headlining stands at San Diego's RIMAC Arena and Las Vegas' Vegoose festival, Beck has announced the December 13 release of Guerolito, a remix companion to the critically lauded, gold-certified Guero.
An ambitious companion piece to the record The New Yorker said sums up everything Beck is good at, like an imaginary greatest hits album, Guerolito features an eclectic line-up of artists handpicked by Beck to create Guero's multi-dimensional bizarro twin.
Additionally, Guero cover artist Marcel Dzama will be the album's artwork, creating new variations on the distinctive and striking original package.
The track listing for Guerolito as as follows:
E-Pro - remix by Homelife
Que Onda Guero - remix by Islands
Girl - remix by Octet
Missing - remix by Air
Black Tambourine - remix by Adrock (Beastie Boys)
Earthquake Weather - remix by Mario C
Hell Yes - remix by 8-Bit
Broken Drum - remix by Boards of Canada
Scarecrow - remix by El-P
Go It Alone - remix by Superthriller
Farewell Ride - remix by Subtle
Rental Car - remix by John King (Dust Brothers)
Emergency Exit - remix by Th' Corn Gangg
Clap Hands
Guero was released on March 29 and entered the Top 200 albums at #2, representing a one-week sales high for the three-time Grammy winner. Guero's first single E-Pro was Beck's second #1 at Modern Rock, the first being Loser in 1994. Second single Girl and its mind-bending Al Jaffee/MAD magazine Fold-In themed video drew accolades from Entertainment Weekly's Must List, New York magazine's Approval Matrix, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone's Hot List Issue.
This looks like you've just blandly reprinted a press release. What's up with that? Is Prefix just an echo board for PR? Where is the creative mark up?

Definitely reprinted a press release. I thought it was obvious by the title. I've done it a bunch of times and will most likely continue to. Prefix news is compiled of articles written by other places and publications. Right now I'm just trying to provide people with place they can rely on for up to date news. Do you also take issue with Davey D? That guys posts ridiculous amounts of hip hop news and often reposts press releases too and I think what he does is great.
When I repost press releases I do it to get news up as fast as possible. In this case, I think that a number of sites that post this news will not really differ too much in what they state compared to the press release.
I don't have any news writers right now and probably won't for a while so look for more press releases. Also, I am not a writer. I run the site and do lots of menial tasks like post press releases. Also, what's up with not attaching your name or blog to your comment either? Do I have to look up your IP address mystery person? Thanks.

I can hang with that. I'm not trying to hassle you, just having fun with you. You seem to have stood up well with your answer, and I respect that. I do a music site too, called Spacelab. I can completely relate the amount of work you go through an daily basis and you do a good job. Lots of good content everyday!
